Red light therapy, explained

What Is Red Light Therapy?

Red light therapy is a powerful and natural method that supports recovery, reduces pain, and improves overall wellness. It works by applying specific wavelengths of red and near infrared light to the body, delivering energy deep into muscles, joints, and tissues.

  • 660 nm red
  • 850 nm near-infrared
  • Non-invasive
  • Use at home

The power of red light

Non-invasive recovery and daily wellness from home

  • Deep tissue repair

Speeds up recovery and reduces pain by delivering energy deep into muscles, joints, and tissues.

  • Dual wavelengths

Uses 660nm for surface skin health and 850nm for deep penetration to stimulate cellular healing.

  • Targeted & flexible

Wearable, hands-free designs let you target any area - from knees to shoulders - right from home.

  • Long-term vitality

A natural, non-invasive method to boost circulation and support your body’s everyday wellness.

How it works

Light your cells can use

Two wavelengths

Red for the surface, near-infrared for depth

Most red light therapy tools use a combination of red light at 660 to 680 nm for surface benefits such as skin health, collagen support, and minor injury recovery, and near infrared light around 850 nm for deeper penetration into muscles, tendons, and joints.

This combination helps stimulate cellular repair, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing process.

Inside the cell

Energy for your mitochondria

Red light therapy is a natural wellness treatment that uses safe wavelengths of red and near-infrared light to activate your body’s own healing process. When absorbed by the skin and underlying tissues, this light energizes your cells’ mitochondria, the powerhouses of your body, helping improve circulation, reduce inflammation, and restore balance.

It supports faster recovery, healthier skin, deeper sleep, balanced hormones, and more energy. This is a safe, non-invasive solution that works at the cellular level to repair, regenerate, and support long-term vitality.

Red light therapy FAQ

How Does Red Light Therapy Work?

Red and near-infrared wavelengths penetrate the skin and reach the cells,
where they boost mitochondrial energy production. This triggers cellular
reactions that support repair, reduce inflammation, and improve overall
function.

What is the difference between red and near infrared (NIR) light?

Red light (660nm) is visible and penetrates about 1–2 mm into the skin,
targeting surface tissues. Near-infrared light (850nm) is almost invisible and
penetrates deeper (2–3 mm), reaching cells, muscles and joints. Our
devices use a 2:1 ration of NIR:R to blend both wavelengths to deliver
benefits at both surface and deeper levels.

Is It Safe For Everyone?

For most people, red light therapy is considered safe. It can generally be
used during pregnancy and is usually compatible with most types of
implants. However, if you are undergoing cancer treatment, taking
photosensitive medications, or dealing with any other serious health
concern, it’s always best to consult your doctor before starting.

Can I Do It If I Have Makeup or Clothing On?

For best results, red light therapy should be done on clean, bare skin. It’s
ideal to use it before applying makeup, moisturizers, or other skincare
products, and with as little clothing as possible. This allows the light to
penetrate and be absorbed by your skin without unnecessary barriers.
